Terravita

In Late 1993, Del Webb Corporation developed the community of Terravita. As one of Del Webb’s first developments that is not active adult or age-restricted, such as the Sun City developments throughout the country, Terravita was an extremely successful venture for Del Webb. If you are awed by giant Saguaros and the artistry of centuries old granite boulder towers and jagged lave mountain scenery, Terravita has your next home.Terravita

Located on 823 acres at the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Carefree Highway in the beautiful high Sonoran Desert with Black Mountain to the north and the Boulders to the east. The name “Terravita” comes from the Latin words Terra (land or earth) and Vita (life), thus creating the harmony of land and life.

Terravita´s guard-gated residential golf community features a wide range of homes and lot sizes, offering a variety of exterior designs and interior options.  Homes are arranged in residential neighborhood enclaves and nearly every home backs up to the golf course or natural desert.  In creating Terravita, the planners and developers took the already strict Scottsdale building guidelines another step, adopting a single-story architectural design that features non-reflective flat tile roofs, and building materials that blend with the desert backdrop.

The private 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned golf architects Billy Casper and Greg Nash, offers a complete golf pro shop, teaching professionals, and an extensive practice facility.  The course reflects and respects the magnificent high Sonoran desert surroundings, creating a true celebration of both the game and its environment.  Being awarded an impressive first place in Ranking Arizona 2005 – The Best of Arizona Business listing of the area’s top 10 private golf courses, Terravita is highly acclaimed for its unique attributes.

Within Terravita you can enjoy miles of nature trails, paved paths for biking, roller blading, walking and jogging. The lush, tranquil desert environment and native wildlife make homeowners feel as though they are living in a beautiful desert oasis, yet still have the “big city” services just around the corner. View the abundance of wildlife, flowers, desert trees and cacti that are home to the high Sonoran Desert. Year round – enjoy swimming, tennis, golf, art classes and gourmet meals. Experience a majestic sunset while dining from the Clubhouse patio. Theme parties abound and private dining is available for your next catered event. The Desert Pavilion community center affords boundless opportunities for residents including board and card games, foreign language classes, seminars and art classes.

Terravita was built with a “neighborhood” concept, where similar size and style homes are located in each of the 23 different neighborhoods. There are four series of homes in Terravita ranging in size from approximately 1,500 to 3,800 square feet. Over 400 homes have views of the golf course, and many others have views of Black Mountain or the Boulders, or both.  Terravita’s community landscaping has won both local and national recognition by the Association of Landscape Contractors of America for “promoting, protecting and preserving the heritage of beauty for future generations.”

The Sonoran Lifestyle: Take in world-renowned landscapes and endless views. Concerts, fine arts, Native American crafts and performing arts are to be enjoyed within blocks of your front door, as well as mountain biking, desert jeep rides and horseback riding. Within close proximity of Terravita are restaurants, shopping, and banking, places of worship, schools, medical services, business support services and conference facilities.
